Artist Statement:

I found inspiration for this piece from a strange fascination with air balloons. Ever since I can remember, I have always loved imagery and photographs depicting a cloudy sunset. The way warm colors of the sun interact with the cool colors of clouds (and ocean) is truly breathtaking. I emphasized visible brush strokes to provide a more traditional painting aesthetic.
