Som-Nom Logo Breakdown
For Som-Nom (meaning "sleep" in Latin), the objective was to create a logo that is simple, yet recognizable enough to be embroidered on mattresses and pillows.

The company was looking for a design that appears fun but not too serious, as well as being able to function on mobile devices and as an app icon.
Because of the brand's intended wide range of applications, the logo features varied compositions - as a full logomark and an icon.
​
During the design process, I explored various ways I could combine the concepts of "sleep," or "sleeping" with "nighttime." The completed design features an emoji-like sleep facial expression with a crescent moon.
​
Negative space is used to tie all design elements together.
The logo icon functions to work as an app icon, social media icon, and favicon.
These Logo Mockups provide a practical, real-world application to test if the logo is functional on materials including business cards, mobile devices, and pillows.
